Originally from New York, Payton is an amateur photographer who has been working full time in arts administration, furniture dealing, and real estate during her time in the UK following university. An alumna of the Courtauld Institute of Art and University of Cambridge, her academic research specialises in architectural history; specifically the discourse surrounding politics, heritage, and colonialism in architectural theory, of early 20th century Europe and America.
